Chemin de Fer also called twenty one is one of the most loved games gambled on on betting house tables. The card game is played with one, 2, 4, six, and 8 decks of cards. A croupier holds and deals out the cards of the individual and two deck games, more than two deck games are normally dealt out of a box like device, referred to as a "shoe."
The game is based on simple mathematical calculations. If the sum of the player’s cards is higher than the croupier’s cards without exceeding twenty-one the player is the winner. But at the same time if a competitor’s hand exceeds 21 that is called a "bust" and he automatically lose.
In one and two deck games games, the cards are left facing down. The players can touch the cards, whereas in the ’shoe games’, gamblers are not allowed to hold the cards that are face up to him.
Chemin de fer is a card game based on interconnected actions, where larger cards left in the deck give the advantage to the gambler and the lower denominations give the advantage to the croupier. The excitement of the game is in the shifting of advantages back and forth from gamblers to croupiers.
Since the player has the privilege to take action 1st, the player has the option to hold a hand that has the potential of going over 21. However if the gambler and the croupier both bust, the player loses.
