The card game has been around since the 18th century. References can be found in historical scriptures to a card game referred to as "vingt-et-un," which means twenty one in French, and is deemed as the precursor to black jack.
The card game was originally not so well-liked in the states. This caused the casinos trying different features like providing a bonus like a ten to one payout, if the blackjack player had a "black" jack and an ace of spades. The jack could be either the jack of spades or clubs. After the card game got well-liked, the bonus pay out soon vanished from the rules.
Any hand which achieves a sum of twenty-one is considered a winner. The value should not exceed twenty-one, in which case the hand is considered to be "bust." The target of every player is to defeat the house. If both the player and the dealer have the identical score, it’s referred to as a "push," with neither the blackjack player or the croupier winning the hand.
